So our school has announced it’s 1.36million dollar investment towards helping to help reduce AIDS in India. While that’s all good and noble of us… I can’t help to think of what ‘benefits’ we’ll be getting in return… and at the same time how wasteful this ‘good deed’ seems another point of view.
There are usually two types of ‘good deeds’ the ones that do it and want nothing in return, and the ones that expect double in return. I find this ‘helping India’ bit the later of the two. Sure you save a few horny teens (when put that way… it doesn’t sound that amazing of a task does it?) but at the same time this program will get national acclaim for doing good for the world. And with national acclaim… comes school prestige…. and following on school prestige would of course be more students want to apply for the school, which equals to more money to put in the pockets of the school administration. Woohoo… so all the administration had to do was talk pretty and they get the credit of ’saving lives!’ and also double their annual salaries… wow… what a dream job eh? Who’d want to be president of a country when you can be president of a University?
And from another point of view… I would have to ask… why are you spending so much money on this when there are so many budget cuts internally? Why do the regular employees have to worry about job security while the administration gets a 30% pay raise?
So now you have a school that APPEARS to be generous and ‘well to do’, and yet… internally you clearly see the corruption. Hm… an exemplary example of greed hiding behind a good deed I would say.

So much for my goal to blog on a regular basis… It’s not that I didn’t have stuff to blog about… but more like I’d always think up something when I CAN’T blog about it. And then when I do have time to blog, I don’t feel like typing out all the jumbled thoughts I had earlier… and so I just end up not blogging at all… bleh.
So I’ve tried out the new Windows Vista… have to say it’s pretty spiffy with the new effects and etc. however still had it anoying points. Like how half the programs I normally use aren’t compatible with Vista yet (okay not that many… but still… the compatibilty issue is anoying) . There are a few akward layout issues with the new OS as well… I’m still trying to get use to it all…
Okay it’s like 3:30am… and I need to get up by 9am… so I’m going to go hit the sack… hopefully I’ll blog more tomorrow… *sigh*.
This blog needs a new layout too… this orange is starting to bug me (I’m pretty sure I’ve said this like 2398429387 times already too hehe) Someday I’ll get my lazy self in gear and do a new skin~.

So I’ll admit to being one of the millions of people that were sucked into the Kdrama world with the release of Full House back in the summer of 2004. And I have been an fairly avid fan of Korean dramas ever since then. Being the girl that I am, I of course enjoyed the romance-ish type Kdramas the most. However, after countless dramas later I’ve come to find most of these kdramas are way too predictable. In fact… you’d think all of the stories were written by the same writter and all they did was twik the details and characters. Other then that, all the dramas can fit into one gerneric ‘framework’ so to speak. There will always be a love triangle or sometimes a square I guess… and the underdog always gets the girl.
For me, I always fall for the guys that always fall in love with the main girl… but never wins her in the end. What can I say? I love bad boys? XD. But honestly… I would like ONE Kdrama where the ‘reformed rake’ gets the girl. Why must it be the bumbling idiot (but has a cute/sweet side) that gets the girl? Granted yes, they’re cute and etc… but if you really are pratical… those capable rakes aren’t a shabby choice either… probably more sensibe in a lot of ways.
In Autumn in My Heart… I STILL to this day would pick Wonbin’s character over the SSH’s. Full House, okay… Bi WAS cute… but had it been me, I would’ve chose the other guy. He wasn’t as flighty and was sure of himself. So why can’t these guys get the girl once in a while?! Why can’t there be a story where the player reforms (like they always do in Kdramas but still never get the girl) but this time GETS the girl in the end? Honestly that would totally spice up my interest. Anyone else in agreement? :P
