Goals and a random rant
Yes I LIVE again! Honestly… why is keeping a routine blog so hard?
Anyways. I’ll start with the random rant.
So I stumbled upon this site http://www.mandarintools.com/chinesename.html which gives you a so called ‘chinese name’. Okay, for the most part it’s a pretty accurate little piece of fluff… At least the words and terms are real and stay fairly true to the chinese language… unlike some sites where they seem to claim that you that there is acuatlly a character for ever letter in the english alphabet and that you can spell your ‘chinese name’ out that way. Who in our modern world has a 16 character long chinese name may I ask?
But that’s not all… I decided to test out the name giver and entered in Alice Wei. Thinking that they would break ‘Alice’ down into words thst sound like ‘Alice’ in chinese and leave my ALREADY chinese name as is…. I was offended to find that it decided to rename my family name to Wu instead of Wei…. Okay… there are at least 10 ways to write the family name Wei … so why the hell did they change my CHINESE name to something else?! What lameness.
Now for my goal.
I’ve been working on learning how to make Flash with actionscript these past few months. And I’ve had a decent level of sucess with the few minor projects that I’ve done. And so now my next goal is to revamp alysluvs.net into flash. I want to do something like David Tao’s offical site. I like it’s simplicity and yet artistic flair.
Oh yeah… and a belated Happy Lunar New Year to everyone! ^_^
